About the Role:
We are seeking a highly analytical and results-oriented Category Analyst to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of the food and beverage manufacturing industry, coupled with a keen eye for data-driven insights. You will play a pivotal role in optimizing our product categories, driving sales growth, and enhancing profitability.
Key Responsibilities:
- Category Analysis:Conduct in-depth analysis of category performance, including sales trends, market share, and profitability metrics.
- Identify growth opportunities and potential risks within the category.
- Analyze consumer behavior, preferences, and purchase patterns to inform strategic decisions.
- Data Analysis and Reporting:Utilize data mining techniques and statistical analysis to extract valuable insights.
- Develop comprehensive reports and presentations to communicate findings to key stakeholders.
- Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) and track category performance against established goals.
- Category Management:Collaborate with cross-functional teams (sales, marketing, operations) to develop and implement effective category strategies.
- Optimize product assortment, pricing, and promotion strategies to maximize sales and profitability.
- Monitor competitor activities and industry trends to identify opportunities and threats.
- Forecasting and Planning:Develop accurate sales forecasts and demand plans to support inventory management and supply chain operations.
- Analyze historical data and market trends to predict future demand.
- Project Management:Lead and manage category-related projects, ensuring timely and efficient execution.
- Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to achieve project objectives.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Economics, Statistics, or a related field.
- 3+ years of experience in category management, market research, or a similar role within the food and beverage industry.
- Strong analytical skills and proficiency in data analysis tools (e.g., Excel, SQL, Power BI).
- Experience with retail sales data and syndicated data sources (e.g., Nielsen, IRI).
- Excellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
- Strong communication and presentation skills, both written and verbal.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a cross-functional team.
